Case Study: Ellie

Ellie

Ellie is a 20 year old Irish Cross mare who developed a sudden onset of lameness. After a referral to the vet she was diagnosed with a ruptured check ligament in her right fore.

After 6 weeks box rest and a course of medication the results were disappointing so Ellie was referred for an intensive course of ultrasound treatment.

The dark lesion is evident in the June scan with the further scans showing greater health and more organisation of the fibres.
